The Clay Boss comes with a ½ horsepower motor that turns a 14 inch wheel. It has a centering capacity for up to 100 lbs of clay. The wheel comes with a handy foot pedal. The foot pedal allows you to control the speed that the wheel turns from 0 to 240 rpm. This gives you the maximum amount of control when you are creating your ceramic piece. There is also a reversible plug. The reversible plug lets you change the direction that the wheel spins. This way you can optimize the rotation direction and speed for the specific object you are creating. This is also a load sensing control. This helps to ensure that the wheel maintains a constant speed when there are changes in weight. This can either be from pressure from your hands and tools or from the addition of removal of clay.
